Next weekend in Townsville is hopefully the start of bright things to come and one of the last chances of being part of this years World Championships team to London. This week’s article in The Sunday Telegraph by Iain Payten reveals the uphill battle Jessica will face in Townsville as she needs close to a PB time to be considered for the 4 x 400m relay team let alone an individual qualification. Thanks to Iain Payten and Phil Hillyard from the Daily Telegraph for this story.
Jessica teamed up with a large group of current and former sports persons, politicians, personalities and supporters of the Suicide Prevention Australia fundraiser held at Maroubra Surf Club (PPP4SPA). Another successful 24 hour event completed and Jessica had a chance to catch up with those involved including former NRL player Reni Maitua (pictured).
Last week Jessica attended the Girls Get Active Day at the University of NSW to give advice and guidance to local high school girls aged 11-16 and discuss what opportunities are available for them in sport. Jessica was one of a number of high profile athletes from different sports to address the girls including her former high school Brigidine College Randwick. Jessica was also there representing UNSW as a recipient of the Ben Lexcen Scholarship Sports Program.
Catch up with Jessica this Thursday afternoon on Fox Sports 503 when she appears on the Trans World Sports program at 4.30pm (15/06/2017 AEST).
