Having finally settled down and letting go of that last bit of jet lag, Jessica was invited back to her high school at Brigidine College Randwick for the presentation of Sports Awards and to give some insights into her experience at the Rio Olympics. Brigidine has been a massive supporter of Jessica in her endeavours two years ago at the Youth Olympics and this year in Poland at the World Juniors and of course Rio.
“Being able to go back to one of the main places that have helped me towards my dream of representing my country and being at the Olympics was a great moment. I had loads of fun giving out some of the sport awards and telling them a bit about my experiences. Everyone at the school were so excited and couldn’t be happier. Knowing many of the girls from my time at the school and going through 6 years with the same teachers made it even more special to go back as I was able to share this moment with them. Brigidine have been so supportive in everything I have done from year 7 to now and I can’t thank them all enough. I am so grateful to have these guys!”
As part of her post Olympic Games media commitments, Jessica also caught up with Nic Healey at community radio station 2SER to talk about life during and after the Rio experience.
